From volunteering to the development of military tourism

How did the idea for the War Tours project come about?

Project idea War Tours arose during the war, when the project team escorted those who came to Kyiv during martial law.

Foreigners who came to Ukraine had different goals for their visit. Some wartime tourists needed to shoot a documentary film and, accordingly, needed help in filming, finding locations with destroyed equipment or damaged buildings, communicating with local residents.

We also helped journalists who needed to move around the capital and visit cities in the Kyiv region - Irpin, Bucha, Borodyanka, etc. These people did not have time to deal with organizational issues and they sought the help of people on the ground.

Acquaintances and friends from different countries also often came, who wanted to see with their own eyes what is happening in Ukraine, how the war affects people's lives, what local people think about the war.

All military tourists were united by the fact that they wanted to help Ukraine, they wanted to know the truth and see everything with their own eyes. Over time, the project team gained experience and understanding that we started to develop military tourism in Ukraine. In addition, it is also a good opportunity to help the army more. The funds raised will be used to help the units that the project team helps during the war.
